The Daily Telegraph’s Chief Sports Reporter, Paul Kelso said, “These latest numbers show that strategy has not been successful and some sports have already had funding cut. Bridging the gap between schools and clubs to retain the interest and activity to teenagers remains a major challenge.”

With more public money being spent on next year’s Olympic Games and cuts being made to school sport. People might start asking whether it would be more beneficial for some of the public money to be put back in to our schools and sport schemes to help nurture our sporting stars of the future, rather than fund an event that people are still uncertain will benefit the UK economy.
