There was a time when watching a movie meant going to your local theater, waiting in line, buying a ticket, and resting your shoes on sticky floors. But today, thanks to Net Flex, all of that has changed. The movie watching experience has become a much more enjoyable activity now that you can watch any given movie on your home entertainment system.
Netflix offers the consumer a variety of different way of watching a movie. You can order a movie up online and have the DVD mailed to you, or you can have the movie downloaded right onto your computer of TV. And if your are looking for a unique present to give to someone then maybe a Netflix gift card will do the trick.
If you are into HDTV then Net Flex has some really good new for you. They are planning on introducing 1080p streaming directly to your PC or TV with, get this, 5.1 surround sound. This will defiantly be better than an online movie rental or a trip to the video store.
You do remember the neighborhood video store, don’t you? It always made me chuckle when I would return a video tape. The clerk would first make sure the correct movie was in the plastic case, and then make sure that the tape was fully rewound. If for some unholy reason you didn’t rewind the tape you would become the recipient of a dark stare. And the late fees were astronomical. Thankfully Netflix has made late fees a thing of the past. Can we hear it for no late fees?
I think that Netflix will make retail stores like Blockbuster and Hollywood Video a relic of the past. And it is probably a good thing. Can you just imagine how many dollar rentals you have to make in order to cover the overhead that a video store has to pay out every month? Retail stores can’t compete with DVD movie rentals.
It turns out that DVD rentals by mail were a good idea however, streaming movies over the internet through a service like Net Flex is even a better idea.
