What do Tiki Torches have in common with Disneyland?  The answer of course is the world famous Tiki Room attraction at Disneyland!  The outdoor tiki torches that greet you at the entrance to the attraction have been there since the 1950’s.  As a matter of fact the Tiki Room is the model that Disney has used to create some of their most high tech and futuristic attractions at the park.

If I remember correctly sidewalks leading up to the entrance of the attraction was lined with bamboo tiki torches.  It made quite the impression on a 8 year old visiting the park for the first time.

But Disneyland is not the only place you can see tiki torches in all their glory.  They are commonly seen at restaurants, in backyards, in businesses, and anywhere a feeling of the tropics is desired.

If you attend a party in suburbia and wait until the sun goes down, you can be assured that the tiki torches will be lit before you can say, “Hey Bob, who do you use to clean your swimming pool?”

There are tiki torch stands that will hold up the shaft of the torch in any location that you desire.  Of course now with the new solar tiki torches there are endless possibilities attached to the placement of the lights.

There are natural gas tiki torches and there are electric tiki torches.  These are such versatile accessories that you are sure to find one that suits your needs.

There is something very inviting about walking into a south pacific themed restaurant and having tiki huts and tiki torches everywhere.  It kind of puts you in a island mood.

If you are about to start designing your backyard you might want to consider tiki torches with a South Seas theme.
