Unique Grants For Small Business
There are grants for small business, big business, and every type of business you can think of. Without these grants, starting up a new company, expanding an existing one, or completing R&D work would be impossible for most people. With everything being so expensive now a days, there needs to be a pipeline of money available to people who want to help create jobs, innovate, and help the economy.
Let’s briefly look at three types of grants for small business:
First there are state grants for small business. Each individual state will offer these grants and it will be up to you pin down the right type of grant for your need. The reason that states offer grants is because the more business that takes place in a state, the more employees that pay taxes, the more social responsibility projects get undertaken, the better it is for the state and the people that live there.
A grant is money that is given to a company. In many cases the money does not have to be paid back. But there are terms that are attached to grant money. For instance, in a state grant the money in all likelihood would have to be spent in the state that offered the grant. Sometimes conditions are attached that dictate that any additional hiring must be offered to state residents before the company can hire from outside the state.
The second type of grant that we are going to look at is minority grants for small business. These grants were established to help bring some sought of equity to the business community. For hundreds of years many minorities were at a disadvantage in business because nobody would lend them money. In order to help level the playing field, many states along with the federal government have made money available through grants to assist minorities get started in a new business or to help them expand an existing one.
Last there is small business grants for minority women. As far as the law of the country is concerned, women are a minority class. The reason for this is because for a very long time women were not able to get credit on their own. Without access to credit it is next to impossible to start a business and make it successful. So just like minority grants, minority women are now being given an even playing field to show what they’ve got.
Grants for small business can help the economy, create jobs, and assist those that have been held back in years past.
